How to Measure Yourself for the Perfect Jeans Fit
Five minutes with a measuring tape can make online denim shopping significantly easier.
What You'll Need
A flexible measuring tape and a pair of jeans that already fit you well.
Measure Your Waist
Measure around the point where you naturally want the waistband of your jeans to sit.
Keep the tape comfortable rather than pulling it tightly.
Measure Your Hips
Measure around the fullest part of your hips while standing naturally.
Measure Your Thigh
Measure around the fullest part of your upper thigh.
This measurement is particularly useful when choosing between straight and relaxed fits.
Measure Your Inseam
Measure from the crotch seam down to your preferred hem position.
Compare With Jeans You Already Own
This is one of the easiest ways to buy denim online.
Lay your favorite jeans flat and compare:
Waist → Rise → Thigh → Inseam → Leg opening
with the measurements shown on the VUMINOUS product page.
VUMINOUS FIT TIP
When you're between two sizes, also consider the fabric composition. Stretch denim and rigid denim can feel very different even when their measurements are similar.
